Welcome to our first newsletter,may we start by wishing you a happy new year,a successful season with favourable spring weather. Our aim with our newsletter is to communicate our buisness to you our customer.
 
We intend to bring you news of recent sales trends, current plants available,and plants that will be available for sale shortly, plus information on new products and varieties.
 
Our new website www.southbanknurseries.co.uk is now almost complete and we will be aiming to keep this up to date with information on current and future products.

Primroses produced in 10cm pots with a wide range of colours coming on stream as the days start to lengthen. Also available six pots to a carry home tray with handle.
A trial crop of double flowered primroses produced in 11cm pots is also being grown.
 
Pansies and Violas in colour available now both in single colours and mixed.Compact at this time of the year with good shelf life.We select the best colours from a number of series to produce an even product Pansies and Violas account for 50%
of our six pack production through the year with sales increasing.
 
Planted terracotta contianers continue to be a popular selling item ideal for patios and cool conservatories.Look out for details of our Mothering Sunday range of indoor baskets and outdoor containers available shortly priced from £1.99(Customers who took our range at Christmas reported brisk sales)
  
A wide range of 9cm Herbaceous is produced for early season sales at a competitive price.
Delphinium,Digitalis,Hollyhock and Lupins
are the most popular selling lines.
Digitalis Mertonensis with strawberry red flowers is a new addition to our range.
 
We have produced a range of 1Litre Perennials
for the spring season with Achillea,Phlox and
Lysimachia amongst the range.
Our range of 2 Litre Heuchera continues to sell
well with last years new introdution Key Lime Pie (Left)in great demand. New this year Crème Brule a striking orange.
 
 
Our range of spring bulbs include Hyacinths in four colours with Delft blue being the most popular.
Snowdrops in flower are produced in 11cms pots
Daffodill Tete a Tete and Feburary Gold
are now in bud or flower.
 
Feature on Vegetables in pots and packs
Vegetable plant sales have been growing these past few years with our sales figures showing an increase of 30%(2006) over 2005.
 
Tomatoes- while traditional varieties such as Moneymaker and Alicante are still popular the growth is in the small fruited varieties. Gardeners Delight although one of the older varities produces small but fine tangy flavoured fruit.
New this year is Golden Sweet (Left)scoring highly in a recent taste survey producing grape shaped fruit with distinctive orange-yellow coloured fruit.
Rosarda a cherry plum type with small oval fruit of vibrant red colour and excellent fruit is our other new varietey.
 
We are adding Waltham Beauty a Butternut squash variety to our list which produces medium sized fruit with a distinctive nutty butternut flavour.Looking ahead to the Halloween market we have Pumpkin Ghost Rider after a small trial last year.
   
 
Our six pack range of vegetables is now firmly established with the highest sales from Broccoli Srouting,Cabbage Hispi,Lettuce Little Gem and Brussel
Sprouts.
 
Look to reserve a trolley of mixed Vegetables to ensure supply for the Bank Holiday weekends this year or other key dates. We will need to know by Feburaury 23rd so we can fit this into our programme.You can supply us with your requirements or order a mixed trolley our selection.
